The 5th annual CAREED conference will be held virtually on 9th December 2020 (13.00-16.30 hrs, GMT). The theme chosen for this year’s conference reflects the uncertain times we live in during the current COVID-19 pandemic. The conference will have a series of short keynote lectures, time for Q and A, and a roundtable discussion on a range of projects that CAREED and its partners are involved with in Africa. The conference is free . We encourage you to register early as numbers will be limited.
The keynote speakers are: Professor Thomas Jayne of Michigan State University who will speak on The Changing Face of African Farmland in an Era of Rural Transformation; Professor Victor Murinde, of SOAS University of London whose lecture will be on The Fintech Revolution in Africa; Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan of the University of Ibadan,Nigeria whose lecture will be on: Youth employment ,employability and the future of work in Africa; and Professor Toyin Falola, University of Texas whose lecture is entitled: Charting the pathway for African Economic Development in the 21st Century.
